Dr. JP Maganito was born in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to the US at an early age and grew in Union City, California. He did his undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Education at University of California Davis. Pursued a triple degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery and the College of Health Sciences graduating with a Masters in Public Health, a Masters in Healthcare Administration, and a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. He served as the Administrative Chief Resident of his OBGYN residency program in his third year and was selected as the Hospital Chief Resident in his fourth year at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He also had a short stent of a fellowship training in Urogynecology/Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. As a National Health Service Corp Scholar, he served the underserved in Yakima, Washington as an attending and clinical faculty for Univ of Washington and Pacific Northwest University Health Sciences.
His experience spans the health insurance industry having been a medical director and Chief Medical Officer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana, served in the federal system with the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, Fort Harrison as a gynecologist, Women's Health Medical Director and Chief of Staff in-charge of a medical center, health care center, and clinics throughout Montana throughout the pandemic, and medical education as the Director of Tracks and Elective at Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine.
His days off are spent with his wife, Charmaine, and two girls, Elina and Maia where they can be found in a swimming competition, piano and orchestral recitals, and other academically related events. His professional interest include laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, infertility, obstetrics, and urogynecology.
